Ranger R76ATR-L Tilt-Back / Right-Tower Single Assist / 30" Capacity Tire Changer
Ranger R76ATR-L Tilt-Back / Right-Tower Single Assist / 30" Capacity Tire Changer
The Ranger R76ATR-L tire changer is engineered to elevate the efficiency and safety of heavy-duty tire service operations, blending advanced features with user-friendly controls. This tilt-back, right-tower design is crafted to let technicians handle different tire and wheel combinations without continuously resetting the duck head. By tilting the tower back, you gain ground clearance and operational ease, so the tool remains in place—even when working with multiple wheels. The swing-arm assist mechanism helps tame stiff sidewalls, ensuring that tough run-flats or low-profile tires don’t become a struggle. The assist tower carefully holds the bead in the drop center, preserving the integrity of the tire while you work.
One of the key advantages of the R76ATR-L tire changer is its versatile clamping system. The RimGuard clamps extend across a broad range: internal clamping from 10" to 30", and external clamping support from 8" to 26". These hardened-steel jaws adapt to various rim sizes and shapes, minimizing the need for tool swaps. To handle stubborn beads, the unit incorporates both a centering cone for external clamping and a saucer/roller combination to guide difficult tires during removal or installation. The turntable is electric, offering reversible direction so you can back off tough beads or progress forward when mounting, all while giving the bead time to relax and reduce stress on the tire.
Ranger designed the change process with ergonomics and workflow in mind. Controls are placed to minimize twisting, bending, and steps between operations. A multi-profile traveling drop-center tool and top bead assist roller assist with the upper bead, while a lower bead lifting disc helps place or unseat the bottom bead without forcing the tool into dangerous angles. The drop-center tool is motorized for smooth, adaptable engagement. The mounting/demounting head is constructed from hardened steel, with a complementary nylon head included to protect rim surfaces during installation and removal.
Bead breaking is not left behind either. The R76ATR-L tire changer uses a bilateral pneumatic blade system that moves quickly and efficiently in both directions. The stainless steel cylinders resist moisture damage, and end-of-stroke cushions extend longevity of seals and piston assemblies. A heavy box-frame design supports the blade structure, while rubber bump stops ensure smooth returns and reduced stress on internal components. All moving parts ride on linear guide bearings to reduce wear and promote smooth operation over long service life. The drive belt is built with convex sidewalls and flex-weave coverings to distribute stress and resist degradation from oil, dirt, or aging.
When inflation is necessary, the Ranger tire changer unit frees your hands through a foot-controlled inflator equipped with a pressure dump valve for quick release. Its TurboBlast bead seating system delivers a powerful, focused burst of air to seat beads without damaging the tire, using a locking tab to maintain control after the blast. On the L model, this unit runs on standard 110 V power with a 2 HP motor, making it viable in many garage or home shop setups with a 20 amp breaker.
