Stability is emphasized in the base design. Wide legs and reinforcing support gussets help maintain balance under load, reducing the risk of tipping even when the column is near full extension. The column is centered on the base to distribute weight evenly, and the anchor chains add security against lateral shifts. The jack’s construction is robust, with heavy steel components throughout the frame and column, built to resist bending or distortion under heavy loads and repeated service.

In practice, the RTJ-1 gives technicians confidence when working on transmissions. To use it, the operator positions the jack beneath the drivetrain component, secures the load to the adjustable saddle via chains or straps, and then pumps the foot lever until the transmission is aligned or begins to shift. As installation progresses, the telescoping column can be raised or lowered to adjust fit, and once aligned, the assembly can be slowly lowered with the release valve for exact placement. Always support the load with appropriate supports or jack stands when finished, and never trust the jack alone as the only support for long durations or when personnel must work beneath the vehicle.
